Riley Green is a rising star in the country music scene, with a sound that blends traditional and modern influences. His debut album, Different 'Round Here, showcases his authentic storytelling and catchy melodies, earning him critical acclaim and fan support. Rolling Stone described his music as "Drinks-in-the-air Nineties Country at an Alabama vs. Auburn tailgate," a fitting tribute to his roots and his passion.
Green grew up in Jacksonville, AL, where he learned to love music from his grandfather, Bufford Green, who ran the Golden Saw Music Hall. There, he was exposed to the genres of country, bluegrass, and southern gospel, and he started writing and performing his own songs. He also learned the values of hard work and family, which are reflected in his lyrics. One of his most popular songs, "I Wish Grandpas Never Died," is a heartfelt tribute to his two grandfathers, who both passed away before the song was released. The song became a 2xPLATINUM certified hit and earned him praise from People magazine, who said it "might take him to a whole new stratosphere."
Green's success continued with his first No. 1 single, "There Was This Girl," which showcased his "great Country vocal, honest presentation and true-to-life lyrics," according to Music Row. He followed that with the Behind the Bar collection, featuring the GOLD-certified "If It Wasn't For Trucks," and the We Out Here: Live album, which captured his energetic live shows. He also collaborated with Thomas Rhett on "Half of Me," which became his second No. 1 single at Country radio. Green's latest release is a remix of his album's title track, "Different 'Round Here (Feat. Luke Combs)," which will be available on May 11. The song features fellow country star Luke Combs, who is also Green's tour mate on the Luke Combs World Tour.
Green has been recognized as one of the most promising new artists in country music, winning the 2020 ACM Awards New Male Artist of the Year and being named a CMT "Listen Up Artist." He was also voted as one of the CRS 2020 New Faces and earned Music Row's Breakout Artist of the Year. He has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the genre, such as Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Jon Pardi, and Dierks Bentley.
Riley Green is a country artist who stays true to himself and his fans. His music is a reflection of his life, his influences, and his dreams. He is not afraid to be different 'round here, and that's what makes him stand out.
